On August 1, we successfully launched a brand-new cargo booking system for Air Tanzania — and we did it in just four months from project kick-off to acceptance.
This wasn't just about speed. The system now handles the full freight workflow: real-time flight visibility, capacity control, order processing, ULD management, and financial settlement — from booking to AWB reconciliation. A complete digital loop for cargo operations.
Why this matters to us:
This marks another strategic milestone for i-Ship in Africa. We've now delivered projects across the continent — from Ethiopian Airlines' e-cargo terminal to Angola's new international airport cargo hub, and now Tanzania. East Africa, West Africa, ground handling, carrier operations — we're building presence where it counts.
What made it work:
Let's be honest — working across time zones, adapting to local workflows, and delivering in English-only interfaces isn't always straightforward. But our team stayed flexible, kept communication tight, and made sure every milestone hit on time. The client's feedback? They're happy with the system's stability, functionality, and our responsiveness.
This project proved once again that our remote delivery model for African markets has matured — shaped by lessons from Ethiopia, Angola, and now Tanzania.

And yes — we're the only software company globally that covers the entire air cargo service chain end-to-end.
Air Tanzania, as the flag carrier of Tanzania, has been expanding aggressively — their 767-300F freighter, delivered in 2023, was Boeing's first direct delivery to an African carrier. We're proud to support their digital transformation journey and help position them as a regional cargo hub in East Africa.
